How is everyone doing? Have you started your assignments yet? Are you asking questions? I hope you are asking questions! As you work on your assignments you will notice the library has a vast collection of items, spread over several thousand feet of floor space.
Librarians are there to help you explore this abundant world of information, both to clarify where things are located and to help you beef up your research prowess. So next time you come across something about the library you don't understand, please let us know! That's why we're here.Memo
The Library will be closed Monday, February 19th for President's Day. Check out the Library's Hours page for a complete list of semester and holiday hours.
Please note: assignment 10, question #3 has been updated. The old question read:
- "From the list of indexes, select Newspaper Source, and search for articles..."
The database Newspaper Source is no longer available. Instead use the Custom Newspapers database. So now the revised question reads:
- "From either Find Articles or Online Databases, select Custom Newspapers, and search for articles..."
You still have to answer the question, just use the Custom Newspapers database to do so.
Questions? Let me know!Memo
Hey, the first target date approaches! February 9th is the first target date for UNIV 106. What does this mean? It means you should have finished assignments one through seven by this Friday.
Target dates are not deadlines but indicators to help you chart your progress and maintain a healthy pace. You will not get in trouble if you miss a target date. Similarly, you will not get in trouble if you finish the entire course in one day. It can be done! Just make sure you check for corrections if you do attempt to complete the course in one go.
The list of target dates is available at the UNIV 106 course website. If you haven't done the first seven assignments yet you should at least check with the reference desk so you can get started.
